But now that it belongs to the Kings Of Microtransactions, we'll likely never see it, just more useless cosmetics that no-one gives a damn about. They promised an update that would change the game from UE4 to UE5 so long ago I forget it ever existed until Leth or another content creator brings it up randomly. Now, after all of the new seasons dropping everyone's ranks into the sewer, every single rank is completely full of people that are supposed to be nearly THREE ENTIRE RANKS HIGHER and you will never feel like it's your fault that you lost 10+ games in a row when your entire opposing team can triple flip reset on you and never miss a single ssl-level redirect in Champ II while you and your team are struggling to touch the ball even once. The matchmaking used to be incredibly fair for a game with such a near infinite skill-ceiling and you always felt like you deserved the loss you just suffered, with the occasional mishap due to a laggy server or afk teammate. Now? You can sometimes go 20+ games in a row filled with nothing but trash talkers, kys-spammers, and idiots that begin throwing and own-goaling the instant you make a single mistake in the first 5 seconds of the match. The community used to be full of good sportsmanship, people old enough to understand that there are many other ways of talking or playing that weren't toxic or trash talk or telling you to kill yourself every time you missed an open net one time or let the opponent score because they outplayed you, and generally only contained a few degenerates here and there. And if you're on console, mostly older gens such as Ps4 or Xbox One and earlier, then you have my condolences. The game used to run amazingly and only had a small handful of crashes or major bugs, now it's full of them and runs like dog droppins unless you have 1GB download speeds or a $12,000 PC. But anyways, thanks to this new price tag and the new ownership of the game and it's future, I, and many others, new it was all downhill from here. Yeah, that's because it's very difficult to convey sarcasm through text. Terrible kind you say? But you just said they were loving and wholesome!. What this did was allow all the loving and wholesome children pick it up now that it no longer costed ~$20, which to a kid with no money would mean asking mommy and daddy but that's usually a bit too much and would save us from many of their terrible kind. they sold it to the devil (Epic Games) and made it F2P (Free-To-Play). They made the worst mistake they ever could have. Notice the key words "back then"? Yeah, here's where the review takes a sour turn. It was basically the only game I played, only putting it briefly aside for games such as Elden Ring or new big Phasmophobia updates. And for a good long while I absolutely fell in love with this game and the community it had back then. I've also owned it since not long after it came out but never took it seriously or even played it much at all until towards the end of Season 13. So as you can see I've put well over 2k hours into this game. *TL:DR* <- Scroll to bottom for shortened version. Looking for more of an 80’s vibe? Tune in to the “Transformers Theme” Player Anthem!
